Introduction

LaterOn ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the LaterOn mobile apps and website (collectively, the "Service").

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your phone number (for verification and account identification), first and last name, and U.S. ZIP code. You may optionally add a profile photo.

Connections and activity. We store your connections with other users, crews you create or join, outings you host or are invited to, and your RSVP responses.

Device and usage information. We collect information needed to operate the Service, including device type, app version, and analytics events through Firebase Analytics.

Push notifications. If you allow notifications, we store a push token (FCM) to send you alerts about plans and responses.

Location. With your permission, we use your device location only on your device to help you pick a meetup spot on the map. Your location is not shared with other users.

Contacts. If you choose to find friends, LaterOn checks phone numbers from your device contacts against existing LaterOn accounts. We do not upload or store your contact list on our servers.

Optional Facebook linking. If you link Facebook after sign-in, we may store your Facebook user ID and display name as shown by Facebook. Facebook linking is optional and not used for sign-in.

How we use information

We use information to provide and maintain the Service, authenticate you, connect you with friends, deliver outing invitations and notifications, show nearby partner suggestions based on your ZIP code, improve and secure the Service, respond to support and safety reports, and comply with legal obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with other users as part of the Service (for example, your name and photo with connections, and outing details with people you invite), with service providers that help us operate the Service (including Google Firebase and Google Maps), with Facebook/Meta only if you choose to link your Facebook account, and for legal and safety reasons including reporting confirmed CSAM as described in our Child Safety Standards.

Data retention

We retain your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove associated data — we do not simply disable your account. See Account deletion below for details. Limited information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business needs.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, block connections, and delete your account in the app (see Account deletion). You can control notifications in your device settings. You can decline location or contacts permissions, though some features may not work.

Account deletion

LaterOn permanently deletes your account — we do not simply disable or deactivate it. When you delete your account, you are signed out and your authentication record is removed. You will need to sign up again if you want to use LaterOn in the future.

How to delete your account in the app

What may be retained

We may retain limited information where required by law, to prevent fraud or abuse, or for legitimate business needs (for example, security logs or records of reports we are legally required to keep). We do not retain your account in an active or reactivatable state.
